VetPlus harnesses the power of coconut oil and changes pets lives!
In recent years, coconut oil has become recognised as a rich source of powerful nutrients, known as Medium Chain Triglycerides, or MCTs. MCTs are a particular type of healthy fat, which has a unique benefit in the body – they are super fuel, for the brain!
As the brain starts to age, it can require alternative sources of energy, to help maintain normal, healthy functioning, of the millions of nerve cells present there. As an older brain struggles to use basic sugars, in the same way as a younger brain, MCTs can bridge the gap, and supply the extra energy needed.
VetPlus, globally acknowledged as experts in the manufacture of super premium pet supplements, have now harnessed the power of MCTs, for the benefit of senior pets everywhere. APRYLIC® is a high-quality, MCT supplement, sourced from coconut oil, available in a liquid formulation, for easy mixing into pet food. The product is packed full of the specific MCTs required to support brain health and function, in older dogs and cats.
APRYLIC® is already changing the lives of senior pets around the world and Amanda and Percy’s story below, reinforces how much of an impact these natural supplements can have.
Amanda and Percy’s Story
“Percy is 10 and half years old. He is a Jackapoo, and half-brother to Poppy.
I have known Percy since he was a year old when I got together with his original dad. Sadly, his dad (my partner), passed away six years ago, but as I had been with him for 4 years already, I couldn't part with him, so I adopted him and Poppy (she is a year older).
Percy has always been hyperactive - I call him my ADHD dog. Everything is over the top. He is very vocal, speaks to me all the time, loves barking at the window at the dogs and cats on the other side, and his day isn't complete without a game or three of ball.
It was when I was unwell last year, that I began to notice a change in him. Little things like he suddenly wouldn't stay on the bed with me all night, as soon as I switched the light off he was off downstairs. I started to keep a low light on which appeased him for a while but not for long. He became more picky than usual with his food.
This year, I had noticed he wasn't sitting at the window anymore, wasn't particularly interested in what was going on outside. He still loved his walks but he started to return "home" up other people's driveways and looked confused when I told him that wasn't where he lived. We have always taken the same few routes on the walk (his choice). He has never really liked going to new places, so he knows his routes inside out, but he started to forget them. He always leads the way, but he started to stop and look at me as if to say "which way?".
Indoors at night he had become very anxious. Scared even. I could hear him scratching in corners of rooms and several times I had to rescue him from very tight spaces, shaking like a leaf. He would often just sit staring into space for ages.
For the past 3-4 months I have taken to getting up with him and sleeping on the sofa - he seems to rest easy on the back of it, with me sleeping on it, and it was the only way I was going to get any sleep. The only normal "Percy" trait left about him was he still had a love of playing ball. His eyes were dull and there was a definite sense of depression about him. I was so very sad and really felt like I was losing him far too soon.
The vet suggested dementia and night blindness. I never agreed with the night blindness, as his sight is still sharp as ever during ball play and he was still happy to tour the garden, at night, in the pitch black. She gave me some meds to help with anxiety, which I used just a few times and they did indeed calm him down at night. I have also been giving him hemp oil and green lipped mussel oil, but it was only really his anxiety that improved, not much else.
So I tried APRYLIC® and within no time - I would say literally just a couple of days - he was brighter, more alert, more like his old self, and after a couple of weeks, he is back to the cheeky ADHD dog I loved and missed so much. He is back leading the way on the dog walk, he knows where he lives, he has started barking at everyone going passed the window and I can, once more, have a good conversation with him!! He is my everything and I am so very happy to have him back again. I am definitely going to keep giving him APRYLIC® and will also start Poppy on it too. And I have even ordered it in human form for myself! You can't put a price on love, health and happiness."
