SAMYLIN®
SAMYLIN® is a nutraceutical for dogs and cats that helps maintain a healthy liver.
It contains four antioxidant ingredients, to help protect the liver from free radicals, that can be produced in liver problems. These ingredients are SAMe, silybin (the active part of milk thistle) and vitamins E and C. The SAMe in SAMYLIN® is enterically coated, to help protect the molecule, and the silybin is conjugated to a phospholipid, to enhance bioavailability. Additionally, the product has been bioavailability tested in dogs and SAMe was found to reach the blood stream within 30minutes, with feeding not significantly affecting bioavailabilty. Therefore, SAMYLIN® can be given with or without food.
